Toy For Adjustment Day
We are hosting a Spinal Health Open Day at the Bangor Chiropractic Clinic on
Monday 6th December 2010
10am to 2pm
Monday 6th of December marked our annual Toys for Adjustment Day. Patients booked in on that day were requested to bring toys to the value of their treatment.
We collected an amazing 150 Toys ,from both the Lisburn and Bangor Chiropractic Clinics, ranging from dolls to footballs to bikes. All toys were donated to the Salvation Army in Belfast this year, as the Bangor branches have been closed down. The toys go to our local families.
Dr Wayne , Dr Nick and their patients have been taking practical steps to help needy children this Christmas. The Clinics ran a “toy for adjustment/treatment” event, where patients bought a toy to the value of their consultation fee instead of money.
The toys, all 150 of them, included this year footballs,skateboards, a dozen Barbie dolls, and lots more. The toys were then handed in to the Salvation Army for distribution to the less fortunate children in the Lisburn area.
Dr Nick Maurice said “ what better time to give back to the heart of the community than at Christmas. The first year we did this we got 85 presents and now 14 years on the total of toys keeps getting bigger. Each year we set a target to better the collections of the previous year. However the recession had really changed the volume of toys we were able to collect. Our target this year was to get 150 toys. We were delighted by the phenomenal response . The waiting room was packed with colourful toys. Many of the patients who couldn’t participate to the “Toy Day” still brought toys later that week or donated money, which helped to get more toys. We are very thankful of the generosity and kindness of our clients who helped make that day a success. Our goal in this practices is to maximise wellness for everyone by removing barriers to healing ability. Bringing joy to needy children in our community can only reinforce that.

Dr Wayne Elphinstone will be doing a brief presentation about Chiropractic and Spinal Health at 10am, thereafter he will be doing free Computerised Spinal Scans and screenings, and will be available to answer any questions you may have about Chiropractic care. Toys for Adjustments
In support of the Salvation Army
6th of December 2010
Every year, we support the Salvation Army in their drive to collect Christmas presents for children in need. On the 6th of December 2010, we will be offering an adjustment, in exchange for a gift. Please bring along a suitable new toy or a few smaller toys to make up the value of an adjustment. The toys will be delivered in time for Christmas to local children who might otherwise have very little or nothing on Christmas morning. Even if you do not have an appointment on this day, we would be very grateful for any toys you wish to donate on the 6th of December.
Bangor 10km Run for Macmillan Cancer Support
Staff and Patients from Lisburn and Bangor Chiropractic Clinics support the Bangor 10 Km Run

On 25 September 2010, Dr Wayne Elphinstone, Dr. Nicolas Maurice, Staff and Patients from the Lisburn and Bangor Chiropractic Clinics ran the Bangor 10 Km Run, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. We are thrilled that we managed to raise £ 2119 for Macmillan Cancer Support – thank you to all our patients for your generosity and for making this event such a success.
Ethiopia Outreach Programme
We would like to thank Mrs Heather Tuft for representing the Lisburn and Bangor Chiropractic Clinics for O.R.E (Operation Rescue Ethiopia) on behalf of the many Orphans and Street Children in Mekelle , Ethiopia . The outreach programme organised by her local church makes an unbelievable difference to the children’s lives. All their generous yet hard work has been rewarded this year as the school saw its first University Graduate.
We were very impressed by the group’s good work and felt that a small contribution could help. We donated some money this year to buy school books. Our funds went towards Geography, Science, Language and Mathematics books. Much to our delight some of the money donated was also used to help buy a fridge for the School. The fridge was used to store medicines for the children at the school.
At the Lisburn and Bangor Chiropractic Clinics, we aim at sponsoring or contributing to 3 varying charities each year. We recently took part in the Bangor 10 KM Run and raised £2000 for McMillan Cancer Support.
Our next Charity event will be on the 6th December 2010 for our “Toy for Adjustment” day. Patients at both our Clinics are asked to bring a new toy to the value of their adjustment/treatment in exchange. The Toys are then donated to the Salvation Army for their Christmas Appeal. A very exciting and rewarding day for all, the Clinics have over the years collected over 2000 toys including 15 mountain Bikes
