I have suffered from chronic neck and back pain for the last 19 years, as the result of a car accident when I was twenty one. My pain ranges from mild to severe; but (as yet) I am never free from it.

I have always received good medical care from the variety of doctors, consultants, physiotherapists and hospital staff who have treated me over the years, and for that I am grateful. But I quickly got to a point where the side effects of the medications I was being prescribed, seemed to outweigh the good that they were intended to do. At that stage, I cautiously turned to 'alternative' medical care; and have since benefited from the treatments of osteopaths, acupuncturists, kinesiologists, herbalists and aromatherapists. I still need prescribed medication, but not to the same extent.

In January 2010 I hurt my neck and ended up at Lisburn Chiropractic Clinic. All I wanted was a qualified chiropractor to "release" my neck, and I would thank him kindly and walk away . returning to my other alternative healthcare practitioners. I had no intention of becoming a long-term patient at Lisburn Chiropractic Clinic. I had experienced chiropractic treatment before, in both Northern Ireland and America, and although I found it helpful, it was a little too aggressive for me.

I was pleasantly surprised when I met Dr. Nicolas Maurice. Nick has a great range of skills from which to draw on and he is extremely good at using these skills. His pleasant, caring and upbeat manner makes him very easy to talk and relate to. I find Nick's treatment totally patient centred; he does not seek to take over the management of my health, but approaches the enhancement of my well being with a 'patient/practitioner team effort' attitude. Nick is currently treating me using Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) - a new concept for me. NSA is a gentle type of treatment, from which I get good pain relief.

As a skilful practitioner Nick provides an exceptionally high level of chiropractic care. In relation to my health, he challenges me, encourages me and guides me in the right direction. I find his skills and confidence inspiring and his intuition reassuring.
