Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is an extremely common complaint and may be caused by a variety of issues, including:

- rotator cuff tears
- adhesive capsulitis (also known as a frozen shoulder)
- tendonitis due to calcific changes
- arthritis
- fractures or dislocations
- ligamentous tears.

The chiropractic approach is unique in that we will always try and correlate your peripheral joint problems with the way your spine functions. Dysfunctions and misalignments of the vertebraes often lead to poor healing, lessened function and reduced mobility in joints like the shoulder. Understanding and optimising stability within the skeletal frame is as important as reducing pain and lack of motion in the shoulder. Treatment will always focus on the shoulder complaint with a strong emphasis on the spinal segments governing the shoulder injury, using techniques such as massage, heat/cold (cryo) therapy, acupuncture and exercise to aid care.
